Indian Summer Festival
The Indian Summer Festival offers a fun and entertaining way to experience the diversity of both traditional and contemporary American Indian culture. The festival showcases American Indian entertainment, musicians, fine artists and craft people.

The Festival also celebrates the rich American Indian heritage with authentic tribal villages, storytellers, traditional handcrafts, dance troupes and lacrosse. Other highlights include a competition pow-wow with the "must see" grand entry of dancers, Friday’s spectacular fireworks, and food including the popular Indian taco.

The Festival grounds are closed to the public during the day on Friday to allow kindergarten through eighth grade students and teachers from Wisconsin and Illinois school districts to spend the day as part of a special educational program. Craft demonstrations, cultural performances, villages with authentic recreations of dwellings, and la crosse demonstrations are among the attractions planned for students. The day also includes a mini pow-wow and a variety of hands-on activities.

Indian Summer Festival is held Friday through Sunday the weekend after Labor Day each year with an average attendance of more than 65,000 people.

The festival is set along Milwaukee’s beautiful lakeshore at Henry Maier Festival Park, site of nationally known Summerfest - winner of the 2002 Music Festival of the Year award.

Indian Summer Festival is the perfect family festival! For more information, contact Indian Summer Festivals, Inc. at 414-774-0380 or indiansummer@wi.rr.com
